Here are quotes from 13 of my favorite movies, one per movie. Can you guess which movies they are without doing a search?- I was just thinking that of all the trails in this life there is one that matters most. It is the trail of a true human being. I think you are on this trail and it is good to see.
- This list... is an absolute good. The list is life. All around its margins lies the gulf.
- You made Mrs. March feel like she could see again. You made Ford believe he was part of something. You give out hope like it was candy in your pocket.
- You must know... surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I'd scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.
- Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!
- Perhaps, instead of asking questions of our trials, our trials are ment to ask questions of ourselves.
- Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout as you did in Rome. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then the fates will know you as we know you: as Albert Mondego, the man!
- Female: When we are married, will you dance with me? I find dancing very agreeable. Why can you not say what is in your head?
Male: Why can you not stop saying what is in yours? Why must you lead, when I want to lead? If I want to dance I will ask you to dance. If I want to speak I will open my mouth and speak. Everyone is forever plaguing me to speak further. Why? What good is it to tell you you are in my every thought from the time I wake? What good can come from my saying that I sometimes cannot think clearly or do my work properly? What gain can rise of my telling you the only time I feel fear as others do is when I think of you in harm? That is why I am on this porch, Ivy Walker. I fear for your safety before all others. And yes, I will dance with you on our wedding night. - You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.
- You smell like beef and cheese, you don't smell like Santa.
- Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously. Moses he knowses his toeses aren't roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
- Adam, you’re my eldest brother. Now I've always looked up to ya, tried to ape ya. But today I'm ashamed of you. Now I know you can lick me, lick the tar outta me! But I wouldn't hold myself no kinda man unless I showed ya how I felt! [punches him]
- There's a difference between us. You think the people of this country exist to provide you with position. I think your position exists to provide those people with freedom. And I go to make sure that they have it.

I stumbled across this earlier in the week and laughed so hard! I am in total disagreement with my husband when it comes to liking the movie Napoleon Dynamite. Hubby thought it was funny and I HATED it!! The Lord of the Rings is a favorite around our house though. We both agreed that this poster was hilarious! Brian over at My Fake Posters did a great job on this one, we are still laughing! What do you think???

Last night we watched a movie that is becoming one of my favorites. "One Night with the King" tells the story of Esther. It gives a brief history lesson and tell of how Hadassah becomes Queen Esther and ultimately is used of God to save her people."One Night With The King" - The Call of Destiny - chronicles the life of the young Jewish girl, Hadassah, who goes on to become the Biblical Esther, the Queen of Persia, and saves the Jewish nation from annihilation at the hands of its arch enemy while winning the heart of the fiercely handsome King Xerxes. Purim. Here is a wonderful movie review. It is a Christian movie review and also details the story line. Here is how it begins...
from:Queen-Esther-Movie website
Esther, Jewish queen of gentile Persia, set a remarkable example of personal sacrifice. Although understandably at first hesitant, she willingly risked her life so others could be saved. In this respect she prefigured the sacrifice of the coming Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, who willingly gave His life so each of us could have the opportunity to receive God’s gift of salvation, eternal life in His Kingdom.Last but not least, here is the movie trailer.

Here is a wonderful family movie! We watched it last night together as a family. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised! There really is nothing objectionable in this movie and that in itself is very refreshing. It is the story of Beatrix Potter the famed author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. We learned many things about Miss Potter as well and enjoyed a beautiful and charming movie! This movie is a sweet, simple story about a young woman's creative imagination and determined spirit. You will love it! You can view the trailer HERE.Labels: What to Watch

Here is a Christian movie with a little bit of Sci-Fi! It deals with a difficult issue that plagues us today. The idea of teaching good moral values without teaching about the Author of those values, Jesus Christ. It will really make you think and evaluate your own life in this area.
The year is 1890 and Bible Professor Russell Carlisle has written a new manuscript. His book is about to receive an unanimous endorsement from the board members at Grace Bible Seminary until his colleague, Dr. Norris Anderson, has a "difficulty with something." Dr. Anderson believes what Carlisle has written could greatly affect future generations. Using a secret time machine, Anderson sends Carlisle over 100 years into the future, offering him a glimpse of where his beliefs will lead.
I highly recommend this movie!

Several of my favorite movies are indeed Holocaust movies, do you think poorly of me now for saying that?
The first one is Schindler's List. It was made with the help of actual Holocaust survivors and is harshly accurate. It does contain violence, language, some nudity, and brutality. These are things I would typically use as reasons NOT to watch a movie but in the case of this film it is an accurate depiction of the life in a concentration camp.
This film is one that will be difficult for many to watch and you will most definitely need your Kleenex, a box or two. Theatrically speaking it is a very well done movie with beautiful music. Mostly black & white & gray. One part of the movie, uses the color red to highlight a little girl throughout the story and has a very dramatic and stark effect.
The second movie is much different and is actually a comedy. In fact the comedian opened himself up to charges for being insensitive, however he was well received by the Italian Jewish community. It brings a lightheartedness about in order to help deal with the horrors of living in a concentration camp. The one thing I did dislike was the fact that it is not in English and you must read subtitles. But it is an inspiring story of a man who seeks to save his son the horrors they are going through and the love he has for his son. The title is Life Is Beautiful
Third, The Hiding Place, which is the story of Corrie Ten Boom, a christian who is sent to a concentration camp for sheltering Jews. The story is her story and shows how her faith sustains her.
Fourth, The Diary of Anne Frank

My husband and I watched this movie several months ago and really enjoyed it. This is the story of a high school football coach who turns to God when everything seems to be going against him. We laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed this movie! The criticism I have heard, from Christians in fact, is that it seems when the coach turns to God everything ends up just grand! The Christian life is not always easy and perfect but often filled with difficulties and trials. This is a true statement. However, I did not get that feeling from the film. This is also a fact, that when we are living life the way God intended it things do tend to go better for us! It is not that circumstances are always good but that we are able to deal with them with grace and strength in the Lord.

The show takes place during the Depression and then during World War II. John & Olivia had eight kids, three girls and five boys. One of the boys died at birth; he was a twin to Jim-Bob. John and Olivia's children names are John-Boy, Jason, Mary Ellen, Erin, Ben, twins Jim-Bob & Joseph, and Elizabeth; Joseph died at birth. John's parents also lived with them - Esther and Zeb.
The Waltons was based on the life of the Hamner family. Earl Hamner Jr. was the show's creator and narrator. This show was based on his life growing up.

The Walton's is a show I remember loving as a child. It was the family I always wanted to belong to, it was so full of love. Since having my own children, The Walton's is now also a new favorite. My children enjoy it and can somewhat relate to it since they are a large family. I now love the Walton's for a new reason. This show teaches some great values. Family togetherness, responsibility, the benefit of hard work, lessons in integrity, honesty, humility. They even use scripture and spiritual things to teach. Admittedly, I do not always agree wholeheartedly with each of theses scriptural lesson, but that simply gives me the opportunity to talk with my own children about them. It is welcoming to have a television show support many of the things I am teaching my children at home rather than contradicting those things. We have started at Season 1 and are working our way through the series and it has been such an enjoyable time for each of us. I highly recommend a renewed visit to Walton's Mountain!
