A Ripstick & a Concussion
- Earlier this week when hubby and I were out and our older girls were babysitting our ten year old feel off of a ripstick.
- She was not wearing a helmet.
- She hit her head hard enough that she was unconscious.
- She lost her sight.
- She was answering questions posed to her but not remembering 2 minutes later that we asked her anything.
- She was also nauseous.
- We headed to the ER.
- She vomited a few times and then her sight returned.
- Two cat scans, an x-ray, and a lot of waiting time later we returned home.
- She has a severe concussion.
- She still has symptoms and can continue to for up to a month.
- She now knows she must always wear a helmet!
- I am so thankful for God's protecting hand over my children.

A Sign of Accomplishment
Today I was sitting and talking with my 6 year old and 4 year old. I was explaining how the baby in my tummy gets food, drink, and breathes. I continued to tell them how we need plants to live, you know the oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange. I continued by asking them, "Isn't it amazing how God made everything to work?" My 4 year old, shown in the photo, piped up and matter of factly said, "It's for God's honor!"This is just a glimpse that the love of the Lord is growing within her and our teachings are being rooted in her heart. Even at 4 years old, she knows the chief end of man and of all creation; to glorify God!!
Thank you Lord for such a rich blessing!!

Thankful Thursday Thirteen

Psalm 50:23
The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who orders his way rightly
I will show the salvation of God!”
I am thankful for.......
- The birds and their songs. The way they brighten a day when it is the first thing you hear as you wake up.
- Little baby cuddles that let you know you are blessed and loved.
- A husband that works so hard for his family.
- To have a godly husband who seeks the Lord daily.
- To live in such a great nation that at least at its beginnings recognized God and his sovereignty.
- To have the freedom to worship.
- For my husband to have the privilege of serving this great nation in the military. To defend the rights of others, even those who treat the military and their own nation so poorly.
- To stay home with my children, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen is actually a good thing!
- To know like-minded Christians and to be able to encourage each other.
- That my morning sickness is not as bad as it typically is and I can function almost as I usually do.
- For the rain and the refreshing it brings.
- For the sunshine and the fact that I have air conditioning!
- For a life that far exceeds what I could have ever imagined having as a child.

Thankful Thursday

I do not have a perfect life and have suffered many heartaches but, I live a life that is abundantly blessed! The Lord has been more than gracious in dealing with me and my family. I am and will always be eternally grateful!
- I am thankful for the gift of eternal life that the Lord has bestowed upon me.
- I am thankful for the children he has blessed me with to love, teach and to train for his glory.
- I am thankful for an indescribably amazing husband.
- I am thankful for the new life being knit together in my womb.
- I am thankful for my internet friends, for the support and encouragement they give to me.
Leave me a comment and share what you are thankful for today!
