You Make My Day
Quiver Mamma just awarded me with the You Make my Day Award. Which really makes my day!
Thank you so very much for thinking of me and encouraging me in this way!
So now in keeping with the requirements I must select six others who are deserving of this award.
  1. Driller who blogs at Brain Freeze: He almost always has some sort of encouragement! Sometimes it is a funny or happy grandchild moment, truth from the Scripture, or an inspiring video of God glorifying music.
  2. Stephanie over at the GreenHouse: She is a real life friend who always brings a smile to my face! I wish I saw the humor in the little things about raising children like she does, thank you for the constant reminder to truly enjoy my children!
  3. Lisa at 2nd Generation Homeschooling: She makes my day by unashamedly speaking the Truth. She has a strong and bold testimony concerning what the Lord has done in her life and the Scriptural mandate for the family. Your strength and boldness is a breath of fresh air!
  4. Jocelyn from A Pondering Heart: It is such a blessing to see a young lady seeking to live such a Godly life and trying to encourage others to do the same! She is wise beyond her years!
  5. Trish from a Joyful Heart: She often brings a smile to my face. It has been a blessing to watch how God has worked in her life, especially in recent months. She always has an encouraging word to say and has been a blessing to me!
  6. De'Etta from Choosing Joy: Well, what can I say about her?? She is just a fun and crazy lady! She is also a homeschooling mom of many, a Chaplain's wife, and we even drive the same van! She often makes me laugh and always brings a smile to my face. I just wish I knew where she finds her boundless energy!
Take a moment & visit these great people & their blogs, you might just make a new best friend!

Blogs of Disctinction
Sandy over at the Daily Poop has given me an award! Thank you Sandy!
She says, " MamaArcher makes me think always, and challenges the way I look at scripture often. " This is such an encouraging statement and an overwhelmingly humbling statement! Thank you Sandy for encouraging me often and for this reminder to keep looking to the Savior for guidance!
Sandy's hubby is currently deployed to Iraq for 15 months, please take some time and go tell her how much you appreciate their sacrifice for our country!
I would give Sandy this award because she often makes me laugh with the ongoings at her house, but she beat me to the award so I will have to find a few others.

Ok, now on with the nominations! I am to to pass this award onto 5 people who make me think, cry, laugh and sigh with their bloggy awesomeness. Those that I have selected are:
  1. Raising Arrows - is a blog that has made me think, sigh, and often cry but has been filled with encouragement. Amy and her family lost their little girl back in February. I have watched how the Lord has worked in her life through this tragedy. She continues to share how God is faithful to her and her family. Thank you Amy!
  2. Families Against Feminism - is a blog chalked full of things to challenge and make you think. Her blog calls you to evaluate your life. Thank you Kelly for such an excellent blog!
  3. Life in a Shoe - Kim is real life friend and her blog almost always makes me laugh! Whenever I need a pick me up & a laugh (and no chocolate is available) her blog is one of the first places I go!
  4. Second Generation of Homeschooling - is a blog that is unashamed of the Gospel! She shares what the Lord has laid upon her heart and uses the scripture to teach. I find it refreshing and encouraging. Thank you Lisa.
  5. These are the Generations of... - is a blog that makes you think and offers a lot of sound teaching to consider. I have probably bookmarked more of the blog posts on their blog than on any other. Thank you so very much Scott for the effort you put into writing such meaningful posts!

Fruit of the Spirit
I have been honored to be selected to display the Fruit of the Spirit graphic on my blog and I will strive to continue to live up to what it represents.

In his letter to the Galatians, Paul wrote about the fruit of the Spirit ~ love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). The Fruit of the Spirit graphic was developed in an effort to recognize bloggers whose writings and postings in the blogosphere give us a glimpse of this fruit in their lives.

There are many blogger and non-bloggers alike who have agreed to partner together in recognizing and honoring those whose writings, postings and lives exemplify how God works in and through His people. When we recognize Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit resides within us. It is the Holy Spirit who produces fruit in our lives ~ but He has also given us the honor and the duty of recognizing the fruit in other believers.

I welcome your help in spreading this "blessing" thoughout the blogosphere. If there's a particular blog you believe reflects the fruit of the Spirit, please email Trish containing a link to that blog. Also, please include a sentence or two regarding your thoughts as to why/how that particular blog reflects the fruit of the Spirit.

Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24

Popular Parent Blogger
As I wandered around my usual HUGE list of blogs that I read on a daily basis and checked my referral links. I stumbled upon the fact that I have been included on the Popular Parent Blogger list. This is a list compiled by Momablogga.

I want to give a very special thank you to all of my readers. Most importantly I want to give thanks to the Lord. He is the One who makes any thing that I do worth wild and credit goes to the Lord for all that He has taught me. I would not be the person or parent that I am without the godly wisdom bestowed only from above.

Take a moment and visit the others on the list. I am sure there are many that you are already aware of but you may find a few more great blogs to add to your reading list.

Tis' The Season For Blog Awards!
Tis' the giving season here in Blogland and I have received a few more awards. As always I am very honored! Thank you! The first award was passed along to me by Jenn @ Enjoying the Ride.
Thank you Thank You! On her blog she offered this award to anyone who would vote for her so I am just taking the guidelines from her. If you have voted for me in the Homeschool Blog Awards, you have earned the title of beautiful blogger!

The next award comes via Miss Sniz. Her hubby made this in response to all the awards that are going around out there that his wife would dearly love to post on her side bar. It was done in a joking manner but my friend Miss Sniz just loved it and has passed it on! Way to run with the fun Miss Sniz! She passed it along to her loyal readers so I am doing the same! Loyal readers you are now awarded!

Spirit Of Christmas Award
Nina over at Mama's Little Treasures has just awarded me with the Spirit of Christmas Award. I am honored and humbled to receive such a gift from such a lovely lady! The spirit of Christmas . . . . it's all about a Gift. God's gift to us of eternal life through Jesus Christ His Son. And in response, out of a heart of loving gratitude, we give gifts to one another. That is the spirit of the season, a loving, giving, willingness to reach out, beyond ourselves and our own immediate circumstances and give. A generosity that comes from the abundance of our hearts, whether or not we have an abundance of material possessions.

So now it is my turn to award this to those in blog land who have given to me!
Ladies, go here to pick up the CODE for this award! May you all be truly blessed with the love of Christ this Christmas season and always!

More Blog Bling!
This award was created by Heidi Hyde from Hydes Like Us and was awarded to me today by GHD at So, What do you do all Day?. This award goes to those who mentor and encourage new bloggers entering into the world we like to call blogland.

There have been many who have been an encouragement to me and have taught me the ins and outs of blogging, but since I just awarded several people yesterday, I will only mention a few.

When I first started blogging, I only knew two other people who blogged and they helped me along in different ways. So I here by award this to my sister-in-law Sallie who helped me get started and to a good friend of mine Rebecca at Space Between My Peers. Rebecca, I miss our weekly bloggy discussions and your advice at church! One other person who has been an encouragement to me to keep on keeping on is Jacque at Seeking Rest in Ancient Paths. I actually would have awarded her with the last award but she was the one who nominated me for it.

Blogging With A Purpose
”Blogging
Eric Novak came out with the Christian award "Blogging with a Purpose" in late April of 2007. With so many secular awards around, Eric thought it would be a good idea to come out with a Christian award. I was nominated for this award by my blogging buddy Jacque. I am humbled and honored by this. My sincerest THANK YOU!

The scripture verse which is the theme for "Blogging with a Purpose" is Matthew 5:31.
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. Matthew 5:13 NASB
So now it is my duty and privilege to nominate five others who I feel meet the criteria of "being salty" and "Blogging with a Purpose".

For those nominated, there are a few rules to follow if accepting this award. Please go HERE for the code and the rules of participation!

The nominees are listed below in no particular order.
  1. Deborah @ One Beggar's Bread: I have just recently begun reading Deborah's blog but I have been encouraged every time I have visited. She has purposed to focus on the high calling of being an encouraging helper to her husband and to slow down and smell all the divine appointments the Lord sends her way, focusing on home and hospitality.
  2. Valerie @ Just4homeschoolfamilies: Of course, I have to nominate Miss Valerie! She does so much to help, support, and encourage homeschooling families. There are days when I think it is her mission to be my own personal encourager! She is a blogger that truly blesses others.
  3. Nathan @ Presbyterian Thoughts; Promoting Intelligent Piety:Nathan's blog is also a recent addition to my reader. I find it very informative and have enjoyed reading what he writes. He is currently studying for his Masters of Divinity and his purpose is to live a life unto the glory of Jesus Christ.
  4. Cindy @ The Dominion Family: She focuses on Classical Christian education as well as being an encourager for younger mothers. Her blog offers a place to learn and grow.
  5. MInTheGap: MInTheGap focuses on our current culture and how it is in opposition to God. He seeks to be one who stands in the Gap between God and man. He seeks to be obedient to God's commission to be a beacon of truth, to reflect His glory, to spread His love, and to be salt and light in the world that is bland and dark.

A Blogging Star!
I have been extremely blessed by a great lady! Valerie over at Just4homeschoolfamilies just passed this award along to me. It is a privilege to receive this award from such a great lady, please go visit her site. Thank you Valerie for honoring me with this award and the great comments on your blog.

We are unsure of where this award originated and the official rules. However, when I think of a star blogger...I'm picturing bloggers that put out a lot of entries a day, chuck full of information that will benefit others, people that make blogging so much fun. I glean from all of my blog friends....whether it be for laughs, encouragement, homeschooling advice, or just simply friendship.

Here are my Blogging Star nominees:

Cindy over at the Dominion Family: I have only recently started reading her blog but am really enjoying it! She is not afraid to talk about things in our society that sometimes just make us crazy!

Amy over at Amy's Humble Musings: This is another blog I have just recently begun reading. I do not think that I have laughed as hard at any other blog, but she has a serious side also and balances those two attributes very well.

She is another Reformed Classical Christian homeschooler to five boys and one girl. She has a lot of great links to share as well as some good reading in her posts.

Blogger Reflection Award
Blogger Reflection Award: this award should make an individual reflect upon five bloggers who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted you in some way, and who have provided an example. In other words, five dear bloggers whom, when you reflect upon them, you are filled with a sense of pride and joy. . .of knowing them and being blessed by them.

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Crimson Wife and to Tamara at Training Our Hearts who BOTH tagged me for a "Blogger Reflection" award this week. This means a lot to know that this blog is reaching people and making an impact. Thank you!

So now it is my turn to tag 5 more blogs and award them with the Blogger Reflection Award.
Now I figured since I was tagged twice I could add a few more than just five.
Please take the time and check out these other blogs:
Granny's House
Laugh Lines
Loved Ones Prayer Vine
