Take a good look, this is a rare thing! My camera shy son has actually been caught on camera!! Today is his seventeenth birthday! Where have the years gone? It was not all that long ago he was interested in trains and legos. Time sure does fly by. Happy birthday son; we love you.Labels: Family

He won't be a teen for much longer!
re: Scheduling
I'm so scatterbrained, I need a schedule! If that makes me less of an unschooler, than so be it (frankly, I really dont care for the term unschooling, but.. oh well). I tried to do more a traditional homeschooling, and it just didn't work for my children. My son is... different... he's a little obsessive compulsive and has some other issues. I believe they'll work themselves out. He needs routine, but has a hard time with the traditional homeschooling and THRIVES with the unschooling approach.
Obviously, I am NOT one of those people who thinks my way is the only way. I feel like, right now, it is what is best for my family. Sometimes I wish we could be a little more traditional.. because I worry if they are learning enough, but God reassures me! - At May 15, 2008 2:52 PM, De'Etta @ Choosing Joy said...

Happy BELATED birthday to your 17 year old.
Time goes waaayyy to fast. We left two after our last assignment....it looks like two more will be staying here at the end of this assignment....this is one phase of military parenting that I'm not enjoying. LOL
