1 Comments:
Dear Mrs. Archer,
I was wondering if you could email me or post some advice on my situation. I love quiverfull as a lifestyle. I have had 4, using no birth control since marriage 10 years ago, except for one year of condoms, as per my husband's desire. Now, we have a three week old and my husband is wanting to use birth control and have no more. This breaks my heart. I desire as many as God would give me. We live in an urban area where my husband does ministry and feels called "to the city". We rent a 2 bedroom, he has 3 jobs to make it all work, and he feels "done". I want to move to a small town, live on a ranch/farm and have as many as possible. I have adopted his call in so much as I have given up my dream of living anywhere but here, in a very large metropolis, and living in a small rental in the city, however, the dream of quiverfull is still so much my heart. I feel so downtrodden considering this being our last one. I would love double fold, even more if it be possible (I am 37). I have emailed Nancy, the above rubies founder. She suggested I say nothing and pray. I have been praying and saying little (working toward saying nothing!). My husband finally stopped talking about a vasectomy. He doesn't like the hormones in birthcontrol, so we will be using condoms again, which he doesn't love either. He really wants to just be permanently done with children. How can I reconcile my desire for more, my love of the idea of a larger family, my belief in quiverfull and my husband's desire to stop?
thanks,
MR
