Protestant Prayer Beads for Christmas
About a month ago I posted on Protestant Prayer Beads and their meaning. These are not to be confused with the Rosary beads. Well, my friend Valerie has taken that post on the Protestant Prayer Beads and done something wonderful! She has taken upon herself the task of making some of her own along with a booklet of explanation! Her beads are very beautiful and are inexpensively priced! Please read through my post on the beads and visit Valerie. You just might decide that these would be a great gift for others this Christmas season!

Thanks for the plug!!! I am trying to think of a way I can make these without it looking too much like the rosary. I think that scares people a bit. Hmmm. Any suggestions? I'll let you know if I think of anything.

No, I do not. That is why in the previous post I tried to explain them and show how they are different!

I actually have an idea but it sort of turns the beads into a different purpose so not sure you want to go that route.

The rosary I bought in the Philippines serves as a visual reminder for me to pray for the darkness to be lifted from that country, and for protection for the children in the orphanage as well as the other Christians I met there. I have a polish pottery cross that was brought back from Poland and given to me that is a visual reminder as well from that mission experience. Both these items remind me when I see them hanging up by my window that there are people who need me to stop my business and pray for them.

Maybe you could do a similar thing with your beads and include on your card a listing of all the cultures that use prayer beads (and maybe what they call their beads) to pray to other gods or nature or whatever. You could include scriptures that remind us to pray for our enemies. I would buy one :-)
