T13- Similarities Shared by Toddlers and Teenagers

We are blessed to have in our home toddlers and teenagers at the same time. As we watch our children grow my husband and I have noticed several similarities between the two.

13 Things Toddlers and Teenagers Have in Common

  1. They can both throw great tantrums.
  2. They both think, "I can do it all by myself!"
  3. They both need to be reminded to brush their teeth and comb their hair. (usually the boys)
  4. They both are a little stinky in the morning. (again, usually the boys)
  5. You still wonder if the bedroom has a floor, it is always covered with toys and stuff.
  6. They are still your little baby!
  7. They both eat more than you think their stomach can hold.
  8. They both need to know how much mom and dad love them.
  9. They both need to know they are a gift from the Lord.
  10. When you are in a hurry they can never find their shoes.
  11. They can sleep anywhere!
  12. They both like to use the word "mine" too often.
  13. They both require too many accessories.

How true! I am approaching the teenage years with my kids, and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it!
Happy TT!

Thanks. I suddenly understand my oldest *so* much better.
Now for the nitty gritty: do you handle them the same way?

"When you are in a hurry they can never find their shoes."

For us, they don't even understand shoes are an essential part of getting dressed...LOL...

Kim-
I have been known to say, "if you want to act like a two year old I can treat you like a two year old." That ususally doesn't make a teenager very happy though! *grin*

Great list! I've only dealt with the toddler side of things so far, but I can definitely see the similarities with what's to come... :)

You could probably add, "Thinks they know more about the world than you".

I and my toddler are in total agreement on everything else.

Great TT!
